Environmental Decisions Group (EDG) is a network of conservation researchers working on the science of effective decision making to better conserve biodiversity. EDG includes a variety of Australian and International research centres, hubs and teams, all focused on Environmental Decisions Science.

The University of Western Australia is part of this group specifically represented by Prof David Pannell / Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy (CEEP) and Prof Richard Hobbs / ERIE Research Group.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions (CEED) aims to be the world's leading research centre for environmental decision-making, by developing models and methods to support cost effective management and monitoring of biodiversity.

The research of this group is communicated through a monthly magazine called Decision Point as well as peer-reviewed papers.

The ERIE Research Group is now directly working on research hubs initiated by the Federal Government under the National Environmental Science Programme (NESP). NESP is a competitive merit-based program with the mandate to carry out research that ensure decision about managing Australia's biodiversity and environmental resources are made on the best available information. The Programme is organised into six research hubs, our researchers are involved in two of these, namely:

The NERP Environmental Decisions Hub (NERP ED) (funded 2011-2014) developed and tested ideas, tools and methods that supported transparent, defensible and efficient environmental decision-making by the Australian Government.
